About Story Made
Our guiding question: What difference can a story make?
Just like Eudora Welty, we believe stories can "part a curtain, that invisible shadow that falls between people, the veil of indifference to each others's presence, each other's wonder, each other's human plight".
Our work is to share stories that can help us see each other more finely, listen more closely, and live more deeply.
In the words of Willa Cather, these stories will become a part of Something Entire -- like sun and air, or goodness and knowledge.
We're starting with podcast series, and we'll see where those take us and what else we become. We hope you listen, learn lots, and change in some way.
People of Story Made
Willa Cather and Eudora Welty evangelist. My life's work is sharing stories to transform our world. I live in Macon County, North Carolina where you'll find me doing what I love -- writing raps and telling stories, wandering in the mountains, learning history, turning strangers into friends, and finding beauty in all things ordinary and obscure.
I'm a Michigan-based graphic designer with a focus on publishing and non-profit design. I'm currently an in-house designer at the Ann Arbor District Library and a freelance book designer. When I'm not designing a book, I'm probably reading (or buying) several, walking, taking photographs, or watching YouTube videos about food with my partner and dog. Although, these days I'm probably changing a diaper or napping on the couch.
My goal as a sound engineer is to make other people sound as good as possible. After over seven years of working in studios and concert venues, I founded Aquilina Audio – my own studio specializing in remote mixing and mastering. Outside of that, I love playing D&D, accumulating guitars, and wrecking my friends' streaming suggestions with weird shit.
